Elvis Crespo at the Billboard Latin Music Conference by Berklee College of Music

Tuesday morning: Today was the first official day of conferences of the Latin Billboard Awards. It has been a day of panels and interviews with some of the biggest Latin music stars and business executives. Current students as well as Berklee alumni have met in the conference rooms of the Conrad Condado Plaza, where the Latin Billboards are taking place.

There have been talks about marketing, strategy, songwriting, and more.

An interview with merengue star Elvis Crespo performed by Leila Cobo (Executive Director of Content & Programming for Latin music and entertainment at Billboard) was one of the most entertaining parts of the day. He had a charming and entertaining personality with some very interesting and down to earth views on the business of music.

Tuesday night

The night is just getting started, with wonderful music showcases after the panels and an amazing poolside cocktail reception with presentations from multiple artists such as Elvis Crespo and Victor Manuelle. We are here at the BMI “Sonidos Acusticos” Showcase. It’s a party all around you, and there are many known faces everywhere you turn. Performers for this closing showcase of the day are full of talent–one of them is Domino Saints, Berklee alumni with very cool songs!
