Wednesday night we performed in Midland, TX, at a coffeehouse called the Ground Floor.  Several of the guys had never been to Texas prior to this tour, much less West Texas, and they were in shock at the sight of the landscape when they awoke.  When we left Houston there were trees and vines growing, dark green lawns, hills, etc., and when everyone woke up near Rhett’s parents’ house in Greenwood (just outside of Midland) Monday night, they were surrounded by the exact opposite.

Will Makar and the Red Line Tour Diary (Bowling Green and Nashville)

Our 2010 Texas Tour is just now closing in on the first week, and it has been both crazy and an absolute blast!  While in Bowling Green, KY, Will and Corey performed an acoustic set on the Tony Rose morning radio show as the band prepared to perform on ABC 13 WBKO later that day, and Music City Cigar that night in Nashville.

Will Makar and the Red Line on Tour

Berklee rockers Will Makar and the Red Line are off on their summer tour of Texas, Missouri and Tennessee. Look here for blog posts from the band’s saxophonist and violinst Rhett Price, as they wind up their summer playing a slew of fun dates, building a fan base, and collecting road stories to share when they’re back at Boylston and Mass Ave.

Sitting backstage tonight in Berwick, PA., you could feel the intensity building inside of the band.  We nervously began looking from behind the curtains to view the growing audience as show time neared, each wondering to ourselves what everyone else was thinking.  Then the lights dimmed, and it was time to walk onto stage for the first time during our Summer 2010 Texas Tour.  As the crowd began to clap and yell in excitement, we each looked at each other with smiles, knowing that tonight was the start of something great.
