#BerkleeCMJ: HRR Interview with Red Oblivion

Heavy Rotations Record rep and student Dan Sigman interviews Red Oblivion (HRR) in anticipation of their set at our Berklee CMJ Music Marathon Showcase.

Red Oblivion includes Berklee alumni Emma Torres (guitar), Zach Adams (lead vocals/bass), and Carson Groenewold (drums). The Boston-based band made a splash at Lollapalooza Chicago in 2012, and also performed at Lollapalooza Chile and Brazil this year. The group is a trio with backgrounds in classical, metal, pop, electronic, and world music. Red Oblivion recorded with producer Paul Kolderie (Radiohead, Portugal. The Man, Pixies) for HRR’s Dorm Sessions 8 CD.

Berklee SXSW Day Party in Pictures

Last Friday, March 15, Berklee hosted our eighth annual SXSW Day Party, and our first at an outdoor SXSW venue, Brush Square Park. It was a great day for the Berklee community, and for music in general, with student and alumni bands from all around the country, and 1,000 attendees including alumni, press, fans, and new faces. The party was the culmination of the efforts of Heavy Rotation Records (our student-run label), Berkleemusic (our online school), The Red Room at Cafe 939, and Berklee Alumni Affairs, and was broadcast live on TuneIn Radio by Presskit.to and Backbone Radio Networks to more than 6,500 listeners worldwide.
