最近のボストンは紅葉が綺麗です。
先日初めて訪れたJamaica Plain、略してJPという地域にあるJP Pondに行きました。

ボストンでは11月1日の深夜にサマータイムが終わって、iPhoneやMacBookの時計は午前1:59の1分後に午前1時になりました。これで日本との時差は14時間差です。
さて、私は中間試験のプロジェクトが一つ残っているのですが、昨日レコーディングが全て終わったので、これからミックスをしてウェブサイトにアップロードをしたら中間試験は終了です！
このプロジェクトはCWP major必須のWriting for Small Ensembleという授業のもので、Smallと言ってもLead vocal, Backup vocals(男女2人ずつ), 5horns, rhythm section, percussionという編成でポップス曲を自分で編曲して録音する、というプロジェクトです。
少ない楽器編成ではないのにスモールと名前がつくのは、CWPはこの後Big bandのアレンジを習う授業があるからだと思われます。

バークリーでは、先週の金曜日にボリウッドやハリウッド映画音楽の作曲家A.R.Rahmanを迎えてクリニックやコンサートがありました。
私はラーマンという名前を聴いてもピンとこなかったのですが、「スラムドッグミリオネア」の作曲家と言えば、ご存知の方も多いのではないでしょうか。

早いもので、バークリーの夏学期は今週でおしまいです。
私は今学期以下４つの授業を受講しました。
– Harmony4
– Basic Keyboard2
– Brazilian Percussion lab
– DAW Writing and Production
授業によって、筆記試験や実技試験を受けたり課題の提出をするなど、期末試験の形態は様々です。
