Singer-songwriter and Heavy Rotation Records alum Nathan Reich ’09 opened up our 3rd annual CMJ Showcase last Saturday at the Bowery Poetry Club with a moving and evocative solo set. He’s joined here by current student Tommy Bohlen and Alexandra Spalding ’09:
Afterwards, he was kind enough to give us a few words about his experience at CMJ, and his time at Berklee:
No that’s not one band name but an amalgam of the three alumni bands I saw last night.
Berklee came out in force for alumni band Annie and the Beekeepers CMJ Showcase last night at the Living Room. Magen and I were there, as were students and alumni Nathan Reich, and members of Sex!, and Nini & Ben, who, not coincidentally, happen to all be playing Berklee’s CMJ Showcase tomorrow (1-5 at Bowery Poetry Club, plug, plug)…
Hi. So, I’m at the Artists Lounge for CMJ and I just got a great massage for free! Now I’m in line to get a free haircut. But that’s not even the best part. I’m drinking beer that was free as well! They sure know how to treat the artists at this event. I had a very tough decision to make whether or not I was going to attend the showing of a new Elliot Smith documentary or coming here. Either choice would have been great. Sex! rehearsal later this evening an then the big showcase tomorrow! We go on at 4:15 sharp.
