It’s the Earth Stringband’s final stop on the Rhythm Road, its grand five-week musical ambassador tour of southeast Asia under the U.S. State Dept. and Jazz at Lincoln Center.
Here in South Korea—from From Seoul to Jeonju to Youngdong—the four intrepid Berklee alumni encounter maybe the widest range of music yet—everything from updated trad to a gong jam to indie rock to non-updated trad to some serious K-pop. Here they jammed with the popular Korean musician Jang Sa-lk.

The group rubbed elbows and jammed with popular musicians. There was also a fashion show and plenty of traditional Korean food. And of course the band got to perform—at the Jeonju International Sori Festival, the Nangye Traditional Music Festival, and the famous jazz club, Chonnyon Dongan Do.
