My name is Nicole Bono, I am currently a 7th semester student at Berklee College of Music in Boston, and a Music Business major. Approaching the end of my studies, I started to look at Grad Programs. I knew right from the start that I would want to continue my studies in the entertainment industry, and focus onto International work. I am bilingual, fluent in English and Italian, and loving languages and travel so much I know that I want to be involved in the International workplace, especially if I can combine those passions along with the Music Industry.
The Berklee Valencia Masters Program seemed to be a perfect match for me, and the more I began to read about it and ask the people on campus, the more it interested me. I began to fill out my application, signing up, gathering my thoughts, and coming up with a Statement of Purpose. I found that e-mailing the people in the admissions office was very helpful. When the representative, Nigel Lees came over to Boston, I met with him as well, and he was so helpful to give me that extra push.
Finally, just the other day I submitted my application! Now I am waiting to hear back and hopefully I will have to prepare for an interview in April. I am so excited to be a part of this whole experience, and maybe in September, I’ll be lucky enough to be part of the first class at Berklee Valencia.

Berklee Admissions
On March 30th and March 31st the Admissions office, specifically the female recruitment committee hosted the annual Berklee Girls Rock event. On these dates we invited women who have been accepted to the college to visit with us. This event was designed to encourage women in the music industry, promote self-confidence and positive self-esteem. With that being said, this was an excellent opportunity for us to showcase one of the industry’s leading female bassists, Meshell Ndegeocello and welcome her to Berklee once again. Meshell’s time on campus was filled working with Skip Smith’s Neo Soul Ensemble, visiting classes as well as a performance with the Neo Soul ensemble and a question an answer session.
Ahhh the sound of cymbals crashing, mallets dancing across marimbas, bass drums thumping and the rat a tat tat of a snare. These are the sounds the Berklee Booth was serenaded by at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC)!
For a good week and a half I find myself back in Boston, in the office, enjoying my catch up time before I am off to my next Berklee adventure. During this time at home sweet home, Berklee hosted an open house. Now, at what other place can you watch current students rock out and get a true sense of what it’s like to be in a Neo-Soul Ensemble? Not many, but Berklee is definitely one of them!
