Pitch Slapped will perform at the ICCA finals tomorrow night

I’m on a Megabus, on my way to New York City from Boston, to go to the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA). Pitch Slapped, Berklee’s student-run a cappella group, will be performing tomorrow night in the finals at Lincoln Center. Founded in 2006, this group is creating a huge buzz in the a cappella world. As ICCA semi-final champions of the Northeast, it is such an accomplishment, as many other competing groups have been established for 20+ years.

We’re really excited to bring you coverage of this event!

Check out Pitch Slapped performing the anthem at the Red Sox game this week:

Five-Week student showcase at the High School Jazz Festival

I caught up with Rodney Rocques and the Jazz Full Riders at the 42nd Annual Berklee High School Jazz Festival. The group formed while attending last year’s Five-Week Summer Performance Program.  While the band members hail from as far away as Puerto Rico, and Canada, they will join together this fall on campus where they will attend Berklee full-time. Check out their performance!

Catching up with Five-Week student Andrew Riezebeek

Last fall, 15 year old guitarist from the Netherlands, Andrew Riezebeek, blogged about his experience at the 2009 Five-Week Summer Performance Program and Guitar Sessions.  In this post, Riezebeek shares with us his music projects as he prepares for Five-Week this coming summer.

Hey Berklee fans and students! Here’s another post for you guys and girls coming straight from Amsterdam!

I have been doing a ton musically and all of my recent experiences have been really important to get prepared for the Five-Week Performance Program 2010.
