Hello everybody, this is Tal & Tali. We want to tell you a little bit about our video “Ad Olam”.

But first, who are we?
Tal is a pianist and composer, a recent Berklee alumna. Tali is a recorder player and composer, about to graduate from Berklee. We both are from Israel, the middle east – a tiny country with a long, complicated history, and a lot of beautiful music.
This summer we spent three weeks in Madrid, recording our duo album, “talYtali”, that was produced by multiple grammy award winning producer Javier Limon, and will be released soon. The album consists of our own original tunes, as well as some arrangements for known Israeli songs, such as this song, “Ad Olam”, that was composed by Yitzhak Klepter.
Tal came up with the idea to create an instrumental version for this song two years ago. She started playing with the melodies, harmonies, and rhythms, and wrote an arrangement which we later performed on different occasions, before we even formally established our band. Naturally, we ended up recording it this summer.
When we were asked to shoot a video for Berklee with the idea to feature different instrumental settings in one song. Based on the duo version, we wrote an arrangement with different sections, and asked our good friends from Berklee (who luckily are also the most amazing musicians) to play in it. The whole thing was a challenging operation: We had to record and videotape five different groups, not including ourselves (and the “multiple Tali” section) in six hours. Together with all the great people we were working with, we made it!
