This past week has been long but awesome. Personally I got tons of things done, booked a few more shows for my band, worked a few extra hours at my jobs, and got to see two great shows as part of my internship. This past week, I started off with Brian Dunne at The Prudential Lunch Series in their wonderfully landscaped courtyard.
The weather was not the greatest for the outdoor event but it could have been much worse. Provided you wore at least a long sleeve t-shirt you would have been fine, but perhaps that scared away a few of the already die-hard summertime Bostonians. But while my arms may have been a little chilly, I was stoked to be there.
Brian Dunne’s music was great. Berklee spotlights so many singer/songwriter girls, but you never get to see boys. This was a nice change of pace. He brought forth an awesome array of originals and covers that blended together perfectly with his intermittent conversations with the crowd. He was very comfortable up on stage. Brian apparently moonlights playing wedding gigs, so I’m sure he’s seen his share of scenery from the view of a stage. I had a great time and in the end, stayed way longer than I thought I was going to because I really wanted to hear what else he had to share.
